about "the voice"

In many disciplines, seeing is believing. At WVUM, listening is.

Founded in 1968, WVUM is the award winning, completely student-run radio station of the University of Miami. “The Voice” broadcasts over-the-air throughout South Florida and streams worldwide.

At WVUM, our mission is to create a more united and open-minded South Florida community by delivering high quality content and programming curated by University of Miami students. We're Miami's leading and longest-running radio station committed to broadcasting alternative electronic and analog music. But it doesn’t stop there- we're also home to some of the most diverse and beloved news, public affairs and sports programming in the city.

If listening doesn’t prove it, maybe our track record will:

WVUM has been recognized locally and nationally for excellence in college radio. MTV awarded WVUM the “Woodie” in 2011, identifying the station as the Best College Radio Station in the country. The station has also been selected as the Miami New Times’ "Reader’s Choice Best FM Radio Station" and "Editor’s Choice Best FM Radio Station" (as well as a slew of other titles for individual air talent and shows).

There's no WVUM without U. Tune in and "Keep It Locked."
