On September 27th, Foster the People (FtP) took over The Fillmore for an electric and mesmerizing show. You may believe that they are just another boring indie band but let me explain why their concert is receiving my highest praise.

A spectacular display of showmanship and energy led this to be one of the best concerts I’ve attended in the last year. With the use of neon lights and a fog machine, FtP had the tone set from the first chord to the last. Opening with songs from their third album, Sacred Hearts Club, immediately had the crowd transfixed.  They played through a filling setlist (even covering New Order’s “Blue Monday”) and had the audience singing along the whole time. The enthusiasm in the venue never waned because FtP made sure to keep their set extremely lively. Needless to say The Sacred Hearts Club captured my heart.
